I did not receive some of the previous sms from Bertrand indicating that his friends never managed to get their visa to Pakistan, so they had to split up leaving Iran, a group of 3 went back through Greece and Bertrand went on his own through Pakistan and then India. This is what I got in a phone call from Bertrand just a few minutes ago...

When he arrived in Delhi yesterday he gave his motorcycle to a carrier to be taken back to France, and he is boarding a plane to Bangkok tonight.

Tomorrow Bertrand will arrive in Bangkok at 6am and hopefully in a few days we'll have all the photos on the web, he said the trip was a wonderful adventure

They arrived in Amritsar, India on the 9th of July. Here is a view of the Golden Temple

After a day of rest in the mountain of Quetta, they decided to hit the road and reach the plains of Sukkur. They are now quite close to India.

A short SMS indicated that they were leaving Iran and would be entering Pakistan today.

Before entering this subject, I would like to specify that I had to go back in the time line to add some photos from Turkey when they went to Mount Ararat, just before entering Iran, and I also updated and reorganised the 2 posts about Iran. So please go back to post on the 22nd and read from there to be updated, before you read here the details about my tracking system...

Not sure what to make of this one but Bertrand sent it to me and wanted to share with you all who they found during their trip in Iran. They could not really talk about it while they were still there but here is a photo for you so see...

This is the story I got from Bertrand after he managed to find an internet connexion and he sent me his update with a few photos. I have reorganised the blog to make it more coherent... This bit is completely new, so please enjoy reading it...

I have a few SMS telling me that it is all OK but not much news, and yesterday I got a few photos that I will show under here. From the SMS I received, they entered Iran on the 23 Tabriz, stopped in Tehran on the 24th, and in Esfahan on the 26. Read more for some really nice photos!

Needed to backtrack a bit as I receive their news earlier with SMS but then the photos later when they find an internet connexion.
So here are a few photos taken before entering Iran, when they visited the mount ararat



and if you want, you can also join in the search for Noah Ark which supposedly crashed on Mt Ararat...

Finally I managed to get some photos from the team. They were taken in Turkey, in the Cappadocia area.

Driving from Ankara to Cappadocia




was a 3 hour ride for about 300Kms, 4 lanes all the way. Click here for a general view of the area.
We left late and arrived around 2pm, we stopped by the road near Uchisar and got some hotel tips from a local guide who called the Ahbap hotel, which we had previously organised through Valerie and Gengis. We drove from Istanbul to Ankara

460 km by motorway... We left from Europe and crossed the bridge to Asia. We were supposed to have a card to pay the toll but we did not know and could not backtrack to get one, so we went around the gate that were unattended anyway... Driving speed quite slow at first but 100Km after Istanbul, as the road cleared up, we could push to 140-160km/hr.
